What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on the nervous system and musculoskeletal system, as well as the effects of dysfunction within these systems on general health. Doctors of chiropractic practice a drug-free and surgery-free, hands-on approach to health care that includes patient examination, diagnosis, and treatment.
The focus of Chiropractic Care is to provide each patient with a whole-body approach to Wellness. We are committed to serving families through the highest quality of natural, safe and affordable care. We have a diverse staff with many areas of clinical skill and knowledge to meet your needs. We believe each patient should have as much information as possible to allow them to be part of their care. Your individualized plan may include adjustments, soft tissue treatments, massage, vibration, and exercises.
Each year millions of Americans seek chiropractic care to relieve pain, prevent, or recover from injuries, sports enhancement, and much more. It is a way to view each patient as a unique individual. Because of this, we do not use protocols, and each patient has a treatment plan specific to their individual needs. Chiropractic focuses on a holistic and vitalistic approach, as well as on the health of the musculoskeletal system. There are many tools our chiropractors are equipped with as part of their training. These tools may be part of your unique plan and include adjustment, soft tissue, vibration, e-stim, exercises, and nutrition.
Why Patients Seek Chiropractic Care?

For example, think about going to a dentist. You are encouraged to go to the dentist every 6 months to prevent and identify cavities, gum disease, or other dental problems. If you did not go to the dentist, how would you know you have an issue? Typically, you would know because you have extreme pain. It is the same for chiropractic care.
While we enjoy helping people out of pain, we love keeping you healthy and happy.
Chiropractors have broad diagnostic skills and are also trained to recommend therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises, as well as to provide nutritional, dietary, and lifestyle counseling. The most common therapeutic procedure performed by chiropractors is known as a chiropractic adjustment. An adjustment is a method to allow proper movement of joints. The focus of the adjustment is to remove the subluxation, which is a joint not moving correctly, by improving joint mechanics. The purpose of an adjustment is to restore joint mobility by manually applying a controlled force into joints that have become restricted in their movement.
Damaged Tissue & Nerves
Tissue injury can be caused by a single traumatic event, such as improper lifting of a heavy object, or through repetitive stresses, such as sitting in an awkward position with poor spinal posture for an extended period of time. In either case, injured tissues undergo physical and chemical changes that can cause inflammation, pain, and diminished nervous system function for the sufferer. Adjustment of the affected joint and tissues restores mobility, thereby alleviating pain and muscle tightness, and allowing tissues to heal.
Decreased joint movement leads to decreased input into the nervous system. The nervous system is the master control system of the body- directing all other body systems: immune, endocrine, skin, digestive, respiratory, and cardiovascular. Thus, dysfunction or decreased input into the nervous system will cause other systems to also fail. This failure will result in symptoms, which are actually just warning signs to let you know that there is a problem within your body. To silence such a warning without identifying the underlying cause will result in even greater dysfunction. Chiropractors address the cause of disease.

Life-Style Modification & Ergonomics
Ergonomics evaluates your body’s position in any given workspace or situation. Proper ergonomics will allow your body to function efficiently, without strain, and can reduce fatigue and discomfort.
Wellness
Wellness is concerned with how you think, eat, and move.
Chiropractic Patient Assessment
Doctors of chiropractic may assess patients through clinical examination, laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging and other diagnostic interventions to determine when treatment is appropriate or when it is not appropriate. Chiropractors will readily refer patients to the appropriate health care provider when chiropractic care is not suitable for the patient’s condition, or the condition warrants co-management in conjunction with other members of the health care team.
The staff at Innovative Health & Wellness Group has a very well-rounded education and provide care to a wide range of patients, such as newborns/infants, children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Basically, if you have a spine, we can help you!
Our patients seek care for acute, chronic, maintenance, and preventive care. We do not see any Personal Injury or Worker Compensation cases. All care received is to promote function of the musculoskeletal system and remove subluxations.
