Deep Tissue

Used for more chronic muscle issues.

Deep tissue Massage Therapy techniques are designed to work deep within the muscle tissue, releasing tension and “knots” within the muscle itself. The result of this type of massage therapy is better movement of the joints and less pain from muscle tension.

Lymphatic Drainage

Promotes removal of wastes and toxins for tissue to allow for healing.

The lymphatic system is responsible to removing toxins from the body. Lymphatic drainage is a technique that improves the function of the lymphatic system by increasing the movement of the lymphatic fluids. Certain health conditions can cause a build-up of lymphatic fluid. The benefits of this therapy help with swelling, fatigue, stress, digestive issue, and many other disorders.

Pregnancy Massage

Massage TherapyPromotes a feeling of well-being, decreases pain, and improves circulation.

Pregnancy Massage Therapy techniques were developed specifically for helping the mother while keeping the baby’s safety intact. As the body expands and prepares for labor, the muscles and ligaments experience increased tension. With massage, this tension can be greatly diminished, allowing for a more happy and healthy pregnancy.

Please note that pregnancy massage is not recommended during the first trimester.

Reflexology

Method of applying pressure to specific points on the body to improve functions, common areas are hands and feet.

Reflexology works along the body’s meridian lines to promote wellness and relief to various systems and areas. Based on Traditional Chinese Medicine beliefs, this technique uses the meridian lines as a guide to pin-point areas of underlying tension. The hands and feet contain a culmination of these lines, which is why they are the main focal points.

Trigger Point Therapy

Massage TherapyTargeted Massage Therapy to release localized muscle spasms that may be causing pain in other areas.

Active “trigger points” are sought out during this type of massage therapy. This technique can sometimes be painful when pressure is applied to the active “trigger point”. Once the “trigger point” has been released, the muscle relaxes completely and any referred tension will also release. The result of this technique is decreased pain and increased movement.

Dry Cupping

Used to promote scar tissue breakdown, improve circulation, remove toxins, and encourage immune function where applied.

Massage Therapy

Cupping is an ancient form of alternative medicine where the therapist will place a cup on the skin of the patient to create suction. It has been used to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow stagnation, relaxation, and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.

The vacuum effect in cupping causes the immune system to be recruited and the skin to rise and redden, due to the blood vessels expanding and being drawn to the surface of the skin. The cup is typically left in place for three to ten minutes. The most common side effect is bruising, but some can also experience tenderness at the cupping site. It is important to let our staff know should you experience these issues. Overall, cupping is a very safe and effective treatment to aid in wellness care.
